Photographer and artist Tono Stano is the author of the original idea, first sketches and photographic study. Šimon Caban participated in the concept’s development. The statuette was sculpted in two sizes by Martin Krejzlík.

Moser Glassworks produces the hand-crafted crystal globe held by the figure—the central material symbol of the festival’s main award.
The bronze realisation involved the Vacek bronze workshops and the bronze casting workshop in Dobříš led by Aleš Svojitka.

“When I sculpted the figure, I embedded Ishtar within the statuette as a magical symbol and an expression of white magic. In my artistic interpretation, this is why she opens the gates of human hearts: she personifies Ishtar, goddess of love and war.”

Tono, I do not deny your authorship or the origin of the idea: you are its author. It is a brilliant idea. The Girl with the Crystal Globe is everything. The idea above all. Bravo.But the look—the final sculptural look—is mine. Make peace with it: I am the alpha and omega, and count me in. Do not wage war with me, because I am the god of combat—but I love you and honour you.There is one essential thing you did not know: when I sculpted her for you, I hid Ishtar inside the figure. I admire your work, respect you as a person and love what you do.

The award debuted at the festival’s 35th edition in 2000. A subtle 2024 redesign preserved the iconic composition while making the sculpture smaller and lighter.
